The Audio Note IQ cartridges are a refinement of the established Moving Magnet design principle, they use a highly rigid Pocan™ body shell and have detachable head shell to facilitate easy change or upgrade of stylus assembly, in fact the IQIII stylus fits the IQI and IQII bodies and make moving up the range simple. The coils on all IQ cartridges are made from fine copper wire, the wire is so thin that it is not possible to use silver which cannot be drawn to this thin a guage. The IQI has a stiffer than usual suspension system, the cantilever is a hardened aluminium tube, with careful attention being paid to the mechanical assembly of the generator. The stylus profile is a Van den Hul type 2. The IQII is similar to the IQI but uses the better diamond also used in the IQIII and IoI cartridges. The IQIII uses the same cantilever and diamond as the Audio Note IoI moving coil cartridge, it is unique in that it is made from titanium tube rather than aluminium. These IQ range of magnetic cartridges offer an excellent combination of exceptional tracking ability, dynamic range and great longevity due to the extremely high quality of the diamond and cantilever used.
